Advanced Mixed Show Choir (Audition Group)

The Music Machine is an internationally acclaimed co-ed competitive show choir, open to students by audition only.  Affectionately known as MM, this group is celebrating 48 years of excellence, and over the years has consistently won top awards in local, national, and international competition, including Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Show Design, Best Costuming, Best Male and Female Soloist, Best Performer, Best A Capella, Best Combo (band), and Best Tech Crew. Throughout its history, MM has had the opportunity to perform in 22 countries on 4 continents, and four Disney properties worldwide.  The Music Machine is honored to serve the San Diego Community, and has been featured on the live telecast of Cox San Diego County Salute to Teachers, the USS Midway Memorial Day Celebration, Balboa Park December Nights, the Charger Blood Drive, Little Italy Tree Lighting, and the Mayor of Chula Vista’s Centennial Celebration, as well as various other local and County-wide community events.

Sound Unlimited

Treble Show Choir (Audition Group)

Sound Unlimited is Bonita Vista’s top award-winning competitive treble show choir, open to students by audition only.  Throughout its 37 year history, Sound Unlimited has traveled throughout the United States and abroad, competing at local, national, and international levels, including foreign exchanges in Austria, the Czech Republic, and Canada.  Sound Unlimited was featured at Balboa Park’s 2022 December nights, and performed on the live broadcast of the Cox Salute to Teachers.  In addition to various local community events, Sound Unlimited has also been a regular performer at the Little Italy Tree Lighting, and the Downs Syndrome Association of San Diego’s Buddy Walk.  

Tech Crew

VMD Tech Crew (Audition Group)

The Tech Crew is the foundation for all of the shows, providing lighting and sound, set design and construction, stage management, equipment maintenance, and more. The show could not go on without our Techs, who have won “Best Tech Crew” at Southern California competitions. The Tech Crew provides the perfect outlet for those students who want to learn what it takes to put on the show, but don’t want to be a performer. We couldn’t do what we do without our Techs! Tech Crew is an audition spot by interview with the Director.

Vocal Fusion

Vocal Fusion (Open Choir)

Vocal Fusion is the latest addition to our choirs and is one of the foundations of our program. Vocal Fusion is a non-audition group and open to any student who wants to explore singing and dancing. For many performers, this is their first experience with the vocal arts in high school.

Baron Concert Choir

Baron Concert Choir (Open Choir)

The Baron Concert Choir is our traditional concert choir and often performs with the combined talents of all of our choirs as well as on their own. BCC focuses on a wide variety of music, allowing students to explore music theory more deeply, and develop a greater understanding of musical composition. Concert Choir is a non-audition class, open to any student who would like to explore singing for their fine arts credit.
